71: 30 Apr 2024 Cuckoo arrives

Location: Livingstone Homestead

  1. First male for site this year.  Also 38 Linnet, plus redpoll, Siskin, tree sparrow and 3 barn owl in area

Location: Warwick Bridge east of Carlisle

3 Swift briefly over rooftops at Warwick Bridge.

74: 28 Apr 2024 White-tailed Eagle

Location: St John in the Vale, Keswick

Name: Ray Lambe

White tailed Sea Eagle, mid morning yesterday. Initially resting then flew gradually Northwards.

75: 28 Apr 2024 Common Crossbills

Location: Crag Wood (NT) Colthouse nr Hawkshead

Name: Sue Hazelwood

2 seen clearly & heard calling in beech trees at top of track.

76: 28 Apr 2024 Common Redstart

Location: Woodland near Troutbeck NY 4161 0281

Name: JONATHAN ADAMS

1400, sunny. Male singing, confirmed by Merlin. Recording retained.

77: 28 Apr 2024 Common Cuckoo

Location: Kentmere Park, west side from Gartburn track

Name: JONATHAN ADAMS

Male calling, on hillside above track. Heard for about 15 minutes around 1230 but not later in afternoon.

78: 28 Apr 2024 White stork

Location: Sea Wood, Ulverston

Name: Mike Douglas

2 flew north. Good views and couldn’t see any rings or wing tags

79: 28 Apr 2024 3 Common Crane

Location: Drumburgh Moss NR

Name: Neville Wright

3 Cranes circled over the Moss then moved NE towards Solway 10.31 am
