21: 17 Nov 2024 Greater scaup

Location: Foulney Island

Name: Mike Douglas

Male scaup in Slitch Ridge Bay. Black guillemot also seen (Walney Channel). Peregrine, merlin and kestrel all on or around the island.

Location: Livingstone Homestead

Name: Andy Lester

Probable winter male in flight from hedgerow, calling.  Early am Also still 12 tree sparrow, yellowhammer, bullfinch, marsh tit, common snipe

Barn owl in vicinity of nest box in unused farm outbuilding. Left building and flew into trees in valley.

Seen on top of hawthorns from grassy track north of Sunbiggin Tarn this morning.

30: 6 Nov 2024 Dunlin, Wigeon & Whooper swans

Location: Borrans Park

Name: Harry Coghill

Dunlin along the river Rothay was a new species for the area. Also a wigeon flew south and 5 whooper swans flew north
