61: 4 May 2024 Crossbills at Jockey Shield

Location: Jockey Shield

A party of Crossbills visited Jockey Shield at the car parking area today, at intervals up to 6 at a time.

2 males singing, also 1 dipper, 5 tree sparrow, 17 lesser redpoll, 7 siskin, 2 Greenfinch, 4 House Martin, 5 Swallow, 3 willow Warbler, 2 blackcap.

66: 3 May 2024 Nightingale singing at C&CC

Location: Keswick

Name: A Martinsson

Common nightingale heard and seen on Keswick Camping & Caravaning Club (Derwentwater, the statics). Sat in cherry tree nearby & singing for a longtime around 9-10pm. When silent another heard also. Heard following night too around 9pm.

Location: Low Bridge End Tea Garden, St Johs-in-the-vale

Male and female seen regularly visiting nesting box easily visible from the tea garden (open 10:30 to 16;30)
