Siddick Pond a.m – Little Egret x 5 – ( main pond ). Siddick Pond p.m – Bittern, short flight with prey (main pond ) . Kingfisher – sitting on post ( small pond ) – regular sightings over recent weeks ( both ponds ).

Spotted a single male, clearly identifiable by the pale eye stripe. It was scuttling around the stony summit and quite close to us, surprisingly unbothered by people.

Good view of raptor from distance as neared realised not buzzard!! Finger wings forked tail different circling pattern no doubt. Seen 100s in falsterbo over years…it’s a one-glimpse bird for me. was driving…. just before road rounds ‘headland’ on left descending to kendal. Will check exact location next time I’m there. Never seen one in Cumbria before yay.
