  • Male cuckoo

    Sighting date: 2023-06-17. Submitted by: John Lees. Location: Little Asby Scar.  Cuckoo calling and seen briefly in Armaside Wood on Little Asby Scar, near Appleby. Several spells of calling, then went off south towards Crosby Garrett calling as it went.

  • Cattle Egret

Collinge. Location: Campfield Marsh.  8.00pm A few Little Egrets, quite a few Snipe put up by Marsh  Harrier then Could not believe a Cattle Egret flew close towards the hide. Yellow bill and stumpy looking. Seen many before but a first for me in Cumbria. Got another view in flight again…
