• Swift’s migration

    Sighting date: 2023-07-30. Submitted by: Martin McDerby. Location: Heversham Marsh/river Kent .  14.10 – 15.15hrs. 400+ Swifts heading S/SW birds coming in from north along Lyth Valley and from East over Heversham. A further 200 approx from 16.00 to 18.30.

  • Cory’s Shearwater

    Sighting date: 2023-07-30. Submitted by: Jonathan Lishman. Location: Silecroft .  1 south at 07.27 then presumed same individual back North but closer in giving good views at 08.16 Also 3 Arctic Skua South and 10 Fulmar.

  • 46 Swifts over Keswick

    Sighting date: 2023-07-27. Submitted by: Jonathan Nicholl. Location: Keswick .  Largest group of Swifts I have seen(all summer) low over town roofs, late afternoon, c.1700, noisy. at least 46 seen together, possibly more.

  • Curlew Sandpiper

  • Curlew Sandpiper – 1 adult in fading summer plumage

    Sighting date: 2023-07-26. Submitted by: Chris per Birding Cumbria. Location: Port Carlisle. 

  • Cattle Egret

    Sighting date: 2023-07-25. Submitted by: Julian Smith. Location: Esk estuary – Newbiggin viaduct.  Just upstream of the viaduct – north bank. Disappeared from view for a prolonged period in the salt-marsh channel nearest the viaduct.
