• Marsh Harrier

    Sighting date: 2023-09-15. Submitted by: Richard Perry. Location: Bassenthwaite Lake – southern end.  Male Marsh Harrier over the Marsh at 17:00. The bird showed well as it approached the waters edge. Last seen flying low among the trees over the marsh to the south.

  • Waderfest

    Sighting date: 2023-09-14. Submitted by: MICHAEL HOLT. Location: Mawbray.  About 400 Oystercatchers this afternoon, 160+ Curlew, 2 Bar-tailed Godwit, 2 Sanderling, 40 Ringed Plover, 1 Dunlin, and flight southwards from Great White Egret. 2 Wheatear, 40+ Goldfinches, Stonechat, 10+ Linnets

  • Night Heron

    Sighting date: 2023-06-12. Submitted by: Guy newbold. Location: Ponsonby tarn, Newton Manor,Gosforth, Cumbria .  Lone night heron on the west banks of Ponsonby Tarn, in fallen trees. Remained till night of the 12.6.23 and seen and photographed by three people. Checked back early on 13.6.23 but no sign was found then or since
